2010 01 16 Loloy D Despedida For ABR at Blue Wave

2010, January 16 made me relent to a despedida request from my fellow Club ABR groupmates, headed by Straphanger Charlie, at a random Blue Wave bar and restaurant's al fresco backstage. Several new ABR members and their wives also graced this memorable occasion. On a fortuitous note, I met up again with Mark, whom I met at Xtine's recently held highschool reunion party. Mark and I share lots of practical similarities on life's perspectives.

2009 12 18 and 19 Team MCP Tambay Night and Night Ride

Finally, I met up with the rambunctious but friendly Team MCP guys December 18 (night) and 19 (early morning) where we had a blast doing an adventurous night ride to Pranjetto, via the Sierra Madre twisties. Having initially gathered at Shell, Julia Vargas cor. C-5, we stopped by Bonfire, a favorite hang out of the group along the riverbanks of Marikina, before proceeding with the exhilarating thrill of nonstop night-riding excitement.

I made lots of good and worthy connections in Team MCP and I intend to maintain my new-found relationship with these guys. Of course, one of the noteworthy acquaintances I made was with the famous jerkzzz2173, who made the distinct accomplishment of successfully finishing a grueling Manila-Matnog-Manila endurance trip within 24 hours, logging more than 1,200 kilometers. His reputation already preceding him and armed with the smallest displacement bike at 125 cc in the entire field of at least seven (7) who joined in the attempt, jerkzzz2173 finished last out of four (4) successful class trailblazers in the same day.

2009 12 13 Newbie Riders Club Anniversary Ride

I finally reached and experienced the famed Marilaque twisties last Sunday, December 13. It was a glorious experience, one which I plan to repeat and rediscover for quite some time until I get sick of it. The bends were delicious, the banking moves were exhilarating, and the group was great fun to be with. Jonjett, our spearhead, handled the event operations smoothly and with the consensus of the group always in deep consideration. Napasa-akin ka rin sa wakas, Sierra Madre! Hindi man lang kita maabot sa bisikleta noon.

Modesty aside, bumibilib yata ako lalo sa Honda BeAT. I have a stock 2009 Honda BeAT with a Givi luggage box installed at its back. Luckily, there are only very few places here in the Philippines where that could happen. And I make up for it with my rather defensive-aggressive driving style on heavy traffic conditions. I'm very lucky to have had more than 18 years of 4-wheel driving and around 4 year mid-distance non-motorized biking experiences before learning how to drive a motorized bike. That should give me enough insights and wisdom on how to avoid nasty situations and accidents. Safety gear may be crucial, but ultimately, spider-sense driving is the key.
